Santa Barbara Telemedicine

Santa Barbara Telemedicine

Jackson Medical Group is pleased to announce that we are now offering telemedicine services to our Santa Barbara patients in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Having a “virtual” telehealth visit from the convenience of your home is the best way to provide treatment and keep you safe during this time.  One of our providers will do a consultation via your smartphone, laptop, tablet, or desktop computer, and bill the visit to your medical insurance, just like a standard in-person visit to our office.

Our doctors are committed to providing a high level of care while also keeping you and the public safe.

All we need is your name and a brief description of the issue you’re experiencing to determine if you are a candidate for this service. We will take your insurance information right over the phone and get you scheduled with your preferred physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner.

Telemedicine FAQ

What if I’m not a current patient of your practice?

Not a problem, you can complete registration forms via the patient forms section and send them over to us before your call.

How will I talk to the doctor during this visit?

A smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a camera is required to complete this consultation with our doctors, using Zoom or Skype which are free and easy to install or FaceTime from your Apple iPhone. If you do not have access to a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, we suggest working with a friend or family member you may be with at this time.

What if I don’t have a smartphone?

If you do not have access to a phone or do not wish to have a telehealth visit, our team will share the details of your complaint to the doctor on call for his or her opinion on recommended next steps.

I notice your office is open for a few hours a day. Can I just walk in to see a doctor?

For qualifying issues, our preferred method of treatment at this time is via a telehealth consultation with one of our providers. Not every condition can be treated in this way, though, and your doctor may recommend you visit one of our offices during our current limited office hours for further treatment. Our goal is to treat you from a distance, following CDC recommended social distancing guidelines. If your condition requires in-person care, we will arrange to have you seen at our office at 5333 Hollister Ave., near Goleta Valley Hospital.

The Corona virus is a serious public health issue and the information about it changes almost daily. In an effort to provide our patients with the most up-to-date guidelines and answers to questions, we recommend the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department as the most reliable source.
