Blanca Fernandez-Kline, M.D.
Board-certified Family Medicine physician serving Santa Barbara and Goleta. Dr. Blanca Fernandez-Kline joined Jackson Medical Group in 2023, bringing with her over a decade of medical practice in the Santa Barbara area since 2011. Board-certified in Family Medicine, she holds undergraduate degrees in biology and psychology from the University of California, Irvine. She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University, where she also completed her family medicine residency. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Fernandez is passionate about patient care and enjoys traveling, cooking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family.

Douglas E. Cummings, M.D.
Board-certified in Internal Medicine practicing in Santa Barbara since 1985. Dr. Cummings, who has been part of the Jackson Medical Group health care provider team since 2001, has office hours at the Pacific Oaks clinic. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, he received his B.A. from Cal State Fullerton, his M.D. from UC Davis, and did his residency training at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Before joining Jackson Medical Group, he practiced in several locales, including Oregon and Saudi Arabia, and worked extensively in Urgent Care in Santa Barbara. When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Cummings is an accomplished outdoor and underwater photographer, enjoys traveling and is a beekeeping enthusiast.

Shaun Ehsani, M.D.
Board-certified Family Medicine physician specializing in Urgent Care at our Goleta clinic. Dr. Shaun Ehsani came to Jackson Medical Group from Urgent Care at Sansum Clinic, where he worked from 2007 to 2012. He is Board Certified in Family Practice, having trained at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, WA. He earned his medical degree at Ross University in Dominica, WI, and previously attended UCSB, where he earned his BS in Zoology. Dr. Ehsani joined the Jackson Medical Group team in May 2012.

Karen Hanna Arndt, PA-C
Certified Physician Assistant providing Family Medicine services in Santa Barbara. Credentialed by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Karen is a versatile member of our team. She received her B.A. from UC Santa Barbara and graduated from the Duke University Physician Assistant program. Karen is well-qualified to provide a full spectrum of Family Medicine services.

Jeffrey Garber, PA-C
Nationally Certified Physician Assistant specializing in primary care in Santa Barbara. Jeff is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant specializing in primary care. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Washington. He received his medical training at The George Washington University, obtaining a master’s in health science and physician assistant studies. Beyond primary care, Jeff has extensive experience in orthopedic surgery, training in wilderness medicine, and a foundation in research science.

Gina Grossi Salveson, PA-C, MMS
Certified Physician Assistant with Pediatric Surgery fellowship experience, practicing in Santa Barbara. Gina earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant from Stanford University School of Medicine. She made history as the first PA to complete a post-graduate fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with an emphasis in Immunology and Bacterial Pathogenesis from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she was a member of the NCAA Division 1 swimming team. Gina is board-certified by the NCCPA, serves as a lecturer and student preceptor at Stanford University School of Medicine, and mentors students through the UCSB Health Professions Association.

Description of Titles
M.D.
This is the degree of Medical Doctor awarded after four years of medical school. All practicing M.D.s at Jackson Medical Group also completed several years of residency training in a primary care specialty, either Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
PA-C
PA-C stands for Physician Assistant-Certified. P.A.s complete four years of college, followed by a two-year medical training program that includes numerous clinical rotations. Most P.A. programs also require two years of employment in a medical back office or hospital setting as a condition of admission. P.A.s work in association with a physician.
